Day 101, Post-Op Jack's Bar & Grill Blues: Tuesday, December 27th!

Nothing is at last sacred but the integrity of your own mind. Absolve you to yourself, and you shall have the suffrage of the world. -Ralph Waldo Emerson, writer and philosopher (1803-1882)

The actress, writer and activist best known for playing Princess Leia in Star Wars, died, today, after suffering a heart attack, on a flight from London to Los Angeles, about 15 minutes from landing.

Patrizzo, what a wonderful story put together by a brilliant man. I wish you a safe trip tomorrow and thanks for inviting me over! WAD Hi Wole! Terrific that you could join us last night. Everyone was delighted to meet you. We will be off shortly. Thanks for good wishes. Take care of yourself and I'll be in touch once we are back home. Healthy New Year to you and your family. Fondestos from Lady Dar, Ayn and Chloë. All the best. Cheers, Patrizzio!

Good friend Patrizzio, I wish you a safe ride back to Canada, and lots of fun along the way. Regards to Lady Dar, and the rest of the family. Thrilled by the moments from yesterday and grateful indeed! Wole.

Hi Wole! Thanks for the good wishes. Many more gatherings and rides in the future, I trust! Left LA at just before 9:00 am. Fondestos from Lady Dar. Take care of yourself, my friend. Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hello Portland! We will be leaving LA around 8:00 am to drive to Redding for the night. All going well with roads we anticipate knocking on your door between 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm. Trust this suits. Thanks and Fondestos, Patrizzio!

Hi Patrick, What a trip you have, thank you for such interesting report.
Looks like you guys have an excellent time, good for you! And all that wine, and biking, and music, and Vincent's history ( I will tell you my part when we get together at the next game, hopefully soon) I envy you a bit, however we have some fun here as well - see below. So enjoy, all the best to Lady Dar, and all your family and friends! Regards Mike

Hello Harbour Terrace! Trust all went well over Chistmas. Had a blast in Tinsel Town. Wonderful visit with Ayn, Los Horridos and Chloë. Fantabulous rides all week, with my crowning effort over Santa Susannah Pass, on Christmas Day to Simi Valley where we had an incredible dinner at Ayn's cousin's place, with all the gang. Left LA at just before 9:00 am this morning and arrived in Redding at 5:30 pm so pretty pleased with time. We'd have been here over an hour, or more earlier, but I-5 was a parking lot, literally, until we almost 200 miles north of LA. Have never seen it like that before.

Just settled into the luxury, sheer luxury of The Thunderbird Lodge and are polishing off a 2014 Coffaro Lagrein, 15.8%, before we stroll over to Jack's! Will spend tomorrow night in Portland, with Marilyn and Michaelo, and then arrive on your doorstep on Thursday, December 29th, to stay for three nights, if that is still fine with you. If not, we'll contact other friends, [Chloë does not want her parents!], so not a worry if you are besieged with other freeloaders!

Look forward o seeing you, one way or another. Fondestos from Lady Dar. Cheers, Patrizzio! Looking forward to your arrival as long as you bring some carffaro with you. Our house is your house see you on the 29th Michele See you on the 29th.

Hi Flamin' and Sarge! Thanks for having us! Just back from a fab meal at Jack's. We shared a salad with Blue cheese dressing then  had 10 oz sirloins, Lady Dar opting for a baked spud while I choose the fries. Not too too busy so we only had to wait for ten minutes or so. Cool and crisp out but walk back to motel was most pleasant. See you on Thursday. Cheers, Patrizzio! Pics: Jack's!

Hello from the House of Germs, Mike and I have been sick for a week. Well, he's on day 7, I'm on day five. Symptoms include extreme fatigue, nonstop cough, fever . . but no sore throat, so I'm guessing not a regular cold, but possibly pneumonia. There is a whistling in both of our tracheas when we breathe. And neither of us have any appetite. I've had one glass of wine in 4 days (that's sick for me) and Mike's had about 1/2 glass of beer. Nevertheless, you are more than welcome to stay. I just won't be able to be the hostess with the mostess. There is plenty of holiday leftover food in the fridge, so you should be able to put together a decent evening meal, and there are eggs and bacon, etc. for breakfast. I find that I get up and can go for about an hour or so, then have to go back to bed. So, I've been in bed most of the last three days. I even missed Christmas dinner. Just had to lie down. Everyone said it was a good meal.

I'm going to call the doctor in a half hour to try to get us appointments. Safe travels. Marilyn

Dearest Pneumoniacs! Much distressed to learn that you were both so ill over Christmas! As Lady Dar mentioned, we will spend tomorrow night with you. We have plenty of turkey bones so we'll make you soothing soups, to be spoon-fed at bedside! I do hope you are feeling better, now on powerful antibiotics, if bacterial pneumonia is, indeed, the culprit. At any rate, thank you for allowing us to stay. Just focus on recovery and we'll do whatever is required to care for you both while we are with you. Fondestos from Lady Dar. Cheers, Patrizzio!
